Project of the Month: 3 Custom Medallions for High-Profile Installation
In the waterjet cutting industry, every project presents unique challenges that require innovative solutions. This month, we’re highlighting a project where we were tasked with creating three custom medallions that exemplify our problem-solving capabilities and dedication to precision.
The Challenge
The client needed three large floor medallions, two with a 10-foot diameter and one with a 16-foot diameter, made from 24″x24″ porcelain tiles. The designs were intricate, and the project required not only precise cutting but also safe transportation and easy installation on-site, all within a tight six-week deadline.
The Solution
‘We employed our advanced waterjet cutting technology to achieve the precision needed for these detailed medallions. The porcelain tiles were transformed into intricate designs, which were then prefabricated in sections for easier handling. Each piece was meticulously marked and accompanied by a detailed installation diagram. Although the estimated turnaround was six weeks, our team completed the project in just four weeks. To ensure the medallions arrived undamaged, we custom-built A-frame skids for secure transport.
